RESEARCH PROFILE

Simanta Lahkar is a postdoctoral researcher at the NanoComputing Research Lab within the Integrated Circuits research group of the Electrical Engineering department at É«ÖÐÉ«. He is working on the EU Horizon project which aims to exploit the properties of Phase Transition Materials for Energy Efficient Edge Computing. His research revolves around modeling and simulations of these beyond-Si devices to predict their behavior and understand their physical mechanisms.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Simanta received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India, in 2018. He graduated with his PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2022, and worked as an Early Career Fellow in Indian Institute of Technology – Gandhinagar, India, before joining É«ÖÐÉ« in 2023. His main research interests are in the fields of computational physics and modeling, electron beam metrology, chemical vapor deposition of 2D materials, and device physics.
