ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

After completing his pre-university education (VWO) in 5 years at the Willem van Oranje college in Waalwijk, Bart started studying Electrical Engineering in 2015 at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. Here he received his BSc. degree with distinction cum laude in 2018, followed by his MSc. degree with distinction cum laude and with honors in 2020, supported by the ALSP scholarship. During his study he completed an internship on functional MRI imaging at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Pisa, Italy, and graduated at GN Hearing on situated hearing aid algorithm design which preceded the work outlined in this dissertation. Alongside his studies Bart was actively involved in education, where he supported numerous courses for on average 0.3 FTE.

Directly after his studies in 2020, Bart joined the Signal Processing Systems (SPS) group at the Eindhoven University of Technology as a PhD candidate - teaching assistant, where he conducted his work on automated Bayesian hearing aid design in the Bayesian Autonomous Intelligent Systems lab (BIASlab) under supervision of prof.dr.ir. Bert de Vries.
